4.2.1  Library as a reading resources

In 1984, the Mahamayee Mahila College Library was established as a vital component of the institution. The library is a repository of knowledge. The institutions provide books used in their curriculum and also in diverse branches to improve the students’ knowledge in various fields based on their interests. To be the repository of knowledge, the institution allots a part of the library. The college library works on all working days.Every day,twenty students use the library andthe librarian maintains a record to track the daily user count.There is a reading room available in the library for staff and students. Every academic year, the librarian collects the requirement list from the staff members before going for the book purchase.

 As of now, the library has 12888 books in multiple disciplines, such as science, the arts, and commerce and foreign author books are available in the library such as Macroeconomics analysis of Edward Shapiro, Clinical Dietetics and Nutrition of Philip Abraham, Child Development and Personality of Paul Henry Mussen, John Janeway Conger, PhysicalChemistry of Gordon M Barrow, Genetics of Monroe W. Strickberger and Junior World Encyclopedia.This extensive collection comprises both reference materials and text books. The library functions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days. The library possesses a collection of books, journals, and newspapers such as Sambad, Samaj, Pramaya, The Times of India, Indian Express, and Employment News.Old Magazines and Journals are preserved in the library.                                                                                                                                                                   An initiative for an e-library is in progress. Fire extinguishers are installed at the library. The college library constructed a separate building. All the furniture termites are finished. The college has a Librarian to take care of the college library. The library issues the books to students for 15 days to students. If the students want the books for more than 15 days, they can renew them for another 15 days. Students are getting ethics books from library time to time. The library has under-CCTV surveillance for the safety of students and staff at the college.
