Education

The Education department as a subject was introduced in 1989-90. The founder teacher of the Department was Dr. (Smt) Subhasini Patnaik and Dr. (Smt) Minati Panigrahi. Subsequently Dr. (Smt) Rajalaxmi Das got added in 2000 due to requirement of one more staff member. The Department of Education had received an affiliation from Berhampur University with an intake of 16 seats in Education Honours in 2004. The no. of seats in same was increased to 32 meanwhile Dr. Subhasini Patnaik and Dr. Minati Panigrahi left the department as the basis of transfer and Dr. Santilata Patnaik and Dr. Brundaban Patnaik joined the department as the faculty members. Along with them Smt Sunita Rani Jena(management staff) was added in the department in 2016. After the retirement of Dr. Brundaban Patnaik, Sri Padma Lochana Sandha(SSB) was posted in the department. Dr. Santilata Patnaik got retired in 2019 and Sri Padma Lochana Sandha got a transfer. Then Sri Narattom Biswal joined in the Department of Education and worked for few days till his transfer. Now there are 64 seats in Honours. MA in Education was introduced in 2023 with 16 seats in the department of education as a mark of upgradation. At present Dr. Rajalaxmi Das is working as HOD of Department of Education with all the organizational activities.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

 The main aim and objective of the department is to makes student interested for higher study. more of her the department is trying its best to attract the student to occupation in teaching line and to be skill teacher. Another objective department to provide student with a value based, carrier focused and quality based education. To engaged the students compactly and effectively in there personal and communal lives through a rigorous curriculum. to promote employment opportunities among the student. To develop reading habit among faculty members and students it has been made mandatory to visit library regularly. To develop for improving the age appropriate life skill in students for adaptive and positive behaviour. The main aim & objective of education helps in developing and enhancing the physical moral , social , intellectual , emotional and spiritual power of the student. The true aim of education is holistic development of body , mind , and soul. To strengthen the intellectual capacity of students and make them rational citizen of the country.

The admission process has been undertaken by the admission committee constituted as per guidance of the collage authority.

The department takes a lot of measure to increase the enrolment and makes student result better.

. Counselling : counselling is considered to be key aspect of dept. for smooth running of the teaching earning process.

. In the very beginning of the new session education programme has been under take by all dept. of the collage. The purpose of the student induction programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new

environment. Inculcate in them the ethos and lecture of the institution , help them bear bounds with other students and faculty members.

Remedial classes has been initiated for the slow learners selecting on the basis of their performance in the internal assessment.

. Financial and Psychological support have been provided to the needy students.

. Class Allotment : Every year a departmental meeting has been organized by the department of education. In this

meeting the course has been distributed equally among the faculty members paper wise.

. Various departmental seminars and group discussion , assignment and project work have been practiced by the dept. for all round enrichment of the students.

. Detection of slow learners are identified on the basis of classroom interaction, assignment and performance of internal exam.
